---We Believe Everyone Needs a Church Home

We are a Christ centered community, joyfully celebrating God’s grace, creating authentic relationships and making a meaningful difference in the world. In this community of believers, we strive to live out the great commandment to love God with all our heart, and with all our soul, with all our strength, with all our mind, and to love our neighbor as ourselves.

Our primary responsibility is to enable people of all ages to become disciples through faithful Bible study, with the freedom to think and to respond with openness, and to help one another grow in faith. We depend on each other in times of crisis, celebrate with each other in times of joy, and pray constantly for the well-being of one another.

God calls us to reach out to the entire world and to extend to each person the Good News of God’s saving grace. We respond by inviting others to join with us in worship and service as part of this faith community. We believe everyone needs a church home – a place to belong and grow and to be loved. Our doors and hearts are open to all. Whether you’re seeking, questioning, or deeply rooted in faith, you are welcome here.

Northwoods Presbyterian Church is Certified as a PC (USA) Earth Care Congregation

Houston, Texas, Northwoods Presbyterian Church was certified as an Earth Care Congregation by the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)’s Presbyterian Hunger Program through February 2025.  The Earth Care Congregation certification is designed to recognize churches that make the commitment to take seriously God’s charge to “till and keep” the garden.

“Northwoods Presbyterian Church is just one of the 331 churches in our denomination that chose to dedicate themselves to intentional care of God’s earth this year. This congregation’s activities and commitment brings hope to their community and indeed to the world. We believe that Northwoods Presbyterian Church will inspire others to respond intentionally to God’s call to care for the earth,” says Jessica Maudlin, Associate for Sustainable Living and Earth Care Concerns for the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
