Youth Ministries
Welcome to Northwoods Youth Group!
Our youth group consists of passionate and creative middle-schoolers and high-schoolers that share a love for basketball, chess, boardgames, retreats, pizza -and caring for their community! We are an accepting, mission-oriented youth group that truly lives out our Northwoods Mission statement to Celebrate God’s grace (through fellowship of games and celebrations and youth-led bible studies or worship), Create community (in inviting friends and collaborating with other youth in Houston for events, retreats, & summer camps to connect and build new relationships), and to Make A Difference! (We have 25 youth with a heart to serve and many leadership and volunteer opportunities throughout the year (summer and year-round!) Our youth enjoy leading our kiddos at Vacation Bible School, volunteering at Northwest Assistance Ministries and Meals on Wheels, building bunkbeds with Sleep in Heavenly Peace, packaging meals at Houston Foodbank and on Make a Difference Day (annual September event) at Northwoods!
Join us for Youth group on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:30 in our youth building off of Terrace Oaks Drive -The red brick building by the church playground! Our Wednesday night programming consists of time for dinner and fellowship, a bible study or devotional, time for games or music and ends with basketball or a craft.
We also have Sunday school from 10am-11am on Sundays in the youth building- Except for the first Sunday of the month we encourage our youth group to attend worship in the sanctuary to participate in communion. Our Sunday school is a time for donuts, catching up (to share highs and lows of our week!), enjoying some Ping-Pong or the pool table in the game room, and to share in a bible lesson and prayer for the new week ahead!
